Focus on students
Although teaching Elementary Spanish requires a lot of teacher input, it is possible to have a more student focused classroom. Some of my second and third graders are more than able to "take over" the class. As an example, watch this video in which a second grader plays hangman with the class. I use Notebook software, but it can be done with a white board. I select a student to go to the front, and he picks students to say letters, which he then presses until the word is guessed. Second graders in our school system have had 1 year of Spanish, but it is amazing how much they can do!
